Day of Service
Each year, NABA gives back to the local community where its National Convention is held by hosting the NABA Day of Service. NABA’s 2018 NABA Day of Service, hosted by NABA Orlando and in collaboration with the Foundation for Foster Children, is two-pronged.
First, throughout the convention, attendees will create cards and write letters to local Orlando-area youth in foster care. These cards will be distributed to youth by the Foundation throughout the year on special days, like holidays, birthdays, getting good grades, and general motivation, reminding them that they are always in peoples’ hearts and minds all year round.
Second, the Day of Service program, which will include a leadership development activity for 30-40 local youth currently or recently in foster care. The day’s events will include a speaker, activities in personal branding, attire, and networking with peers. Conference attendees will have the opportunity to participate in this event, chaperoning and leading groups of students.
Card-making activities will take place throughout the entirety of the Convention, please check the final schedule for room location. The Day of Service program takes place on Sunday, June 17 from 10:00am–1:00 pm. Participant registration is required during the convention registration process. Space is very limited.
