During this training, you will find answers to your questions, solutions to operational challenges and get the motivation to implement change. Whether you have worked in adult day health care for 5 months or 15 years, you will learn new ideas to take back to your program.

Tuesday, October 26, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

ADHC Part 425 regulations, assessments and admissions, generating referrals, program director responsibilities and day-to-day operations.

Wednesday, October 27, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Documentation, care planning, writing policies and procedures, leadership.

Who Should Attend?

This program is designed for adult day health care program directors or staff members with less than three years of experience in ADHC, as well as individuals seeking to increase or refresh their knowledge of Part 425 regulations or program operations. Program directors, nurses, social workers, corporate compliance officers, and nursing home administrators are encouraged to attend.

Gail Weinstein, MS, LNHA, CTRS, is a LeadingAge NY ProCare consultant, licensed nursing home administrator and certified therapeutic recreation specialist. Gail’s long term care experience has ranged from hands-on recreation therapist to supervisory and administrative positions. As vice president of Community Health Services, Gail was responsible for the creation, development, implementation and oversight of three Alzheimer’s adult day health care programs, a long term home health care program and an in-house day care program for nursing home residents with dementia. For over twenty years, Gail has provided long term care and adult day health care consulting services through LeadingAge NY ProCareSM, conducting mock surveys, assisting facilities with plans of corrections (POC), directed plan of corrections (DPOC), and training staff in areas of accidents and incidents, documentation, care planning, policies and procedures, behavior management, therapeutic programming, leadership/management skills and quality assurance. She is also the co-author of a chapter entitled "Approaches to Special Programming" published in Dementia: Issues in Nursing Home Care.

Anne Hill is the executive director of the Adult Day Health Care Council (ADHCC). In this capacity, she is responsible for all issues related to medical model adult day care programs, including reimbursement, regulations, lobbying, research and education. She works closely with the ADHCC board and membership on policy issues affecting adult day health care and is responsible for management of the daily operations of the council.
