Program Summary

Train-the-Trainer: Teaching Adult Learners

This New York State Department of Health (DOH) approved training program has been developed with nursing home Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) instructors in mind, but will be helpful to any staff member who provides education. This program satisfies the requirement of regulation 415.26 - Organization and administration - for a CNA instructor to have successfully completed a "professionally recognized course in teaching adult learners."

Unlike other programs, this training is specific to nursing homes and will provide you with best practices, ideas for developing curriculum, lesson plans, and much more!

Developing, Conducting and Running a Successful CNA Training Program

Specifically designed to address in facility CNA training programs, this day will discuss the paperwork required to apply for a program, the curriculum necessary for training, and ongoing revisions to the course material. It will provide tips on screening and registering candidates for a class. In-depth information will be reviewed related to Prometric testing, Prometric requirements, and teaching the skills to facilitate successful certification. Also, the class will discuss by sharing the monitoring of strengths and weaknesses of existing programs.
