When schools closed last March, one thing was certain: learning would be changed forever. Digital transformation can often take years, but districts around the country were forced to do it in months. Join Tara Anderson, Business Development Manager at Amazon Web Services (AWS), for this conversation with Steve Langford, CIO of Beaverton ISD, and Cynthia Hansen, System Administrator at Northside ISD, to hear two different perspectives on how districts quickly pivoted and found success in a remote world. In this session:

• Hear the perspective of a CIO and a system administrator from two different school districts shifted from in-person to online teaching, working, and learning;
• Learn how they leveraged the cloud for their digital transformation journey;
• Understand their learning from this experience, what they did right and what they would do differently.

In this session, AWS K-12 Solutions Architect, Kevin McCandless, will break down the top cloud use cases for school districts, from the benefits of a cloud-first strategy, to common first workloads that many K12 institutions implement around application streaming for virtual computer labs, engagement, analytics, and infrastructure.

This dialogue will highlight the power of leadership that can drive successful learning opportunities including the critical need for leadership in times of remote learning. Included will be specific examples of school and district leaders that made critical leadership decisions in the shift to remote learning.

The Driving K-12 Innovation methodology, exploring technology hurdles, technology enablers and accelerators will provide a foundation for initiating and sustaining innovation.
