Vaccination Policy: Effective immediately and until further notice, AmaWaterways will only be welcoming guests fully vaccinated* against COVID-19 on board our ships. This vaccination update also applies to accompanied minors. Guests affected by this decision should contact their travel advisor for options to reschedule their river cruise. *To join an AmaWaterways river cruise, guests are considered fully vaccinated 14 days after receiving their second dose of Pfizer, Moderna and AstraZeneca or 28 days following a single dose of Johnson & Johnson (based on EMA guidelines). AmaWaterways accepts mixed dosages of these four vaccines. As entry requirements can change rapidly, you may also wish to take a PCR test within 72 hours of your departing flight to avoid any unnecessary travel interruptions and for added peace of mind. Please stay updated on the safety regulations for all your pre-departure plans. ASTA is covering the cost of transfers to Munich International Airport. Please note that all passengers must disembark the AmaMagna by 9:00 am as the crew will begin cleaning the ship for the following cruise passengers at that time. Transfer times to MUC:
Testing Prior to Boarding AmaWaterways requires a COVID Antigen test before boarding the ship on March 20. Please make sure to visit AmaMagna Cruise Manager, Cesario on the morning of March 17th or 18th. He will share all details regarding testing and the room name. Testing will be done on March 19 between 10:00 am and 12:00 pm at the Marriott Budapest Hotel, in room "Studio 1" on the ground floor, the right-hand side of reception near the gift shop. The cost of the test is €20 Euro per person and will be the responsibility of each guest. Payments will be charged to your onboard cruise account, payable at the end of the cruise. Tip: You’ll want to ensure you obtain your test on March 19 before setting off for your afternoon sightseeing tour. AmaWaterways requires this test to board the ship for our cruise the following day. Testing Onboard for Return to U.S. Testing for return to the U.S. will be available onboard the ship. If you are staying in Munich after disembarkation, there are a lot of locations to get your test in the city. AmaVerde Romania Extension: The Vice President Cruise on AmaVerde has an optional extension to Romania which starts on March 28 with pickup from the ship and ends on March 30 with transfer to the airport. Register for this when registering for the AmaVerde Vice Presidents Cruise during registration or in the Attendee Service Center.

Please see the Amawaterways Representative at each hotel 30 minutes before the transfer time. Please check your hotel reservations to confirm check-out is on 3/21. Disembarkation transfers from the Giurgiu port to Bucharest (OTP) airport on March 28 can be provided for a fee. If you request a transfer, please provide your flight details to Andrea Caulfield acaulfield@asta.org no later than 30 days prior to departure. For those who are extending their excursion in Romania, transfers will also be included. Details on your transfer from the Giurgiu port for the Romania excursion will be communicated by the tour host directly. Although the check-in process with AmaWaterways asks for your inbound flight information, we will not be using it for embarkation purposes. All attendees are responsible for getting to the conference hotels upon arrival in Budapest. ASTA will provide the transfer from the conference hotels to the pier on the day of embarkation.
