Boeing Tour

This tour will consist of information-sharing about programs that are in place to support local high schools (such as Core Plus Aerospace, Student Development Programs, etc.) and a walk-through of the Everett facility. Walk the factory floor, witness the airplane production process, and learn more about the skills needed to begin a career in aerospace and advanced manufacturing. It's a unique opportunity to connect real-world industry developments with hands-on learning.

Join us for an exciting and educational tour of the Museum of Flight, where history and innovation take flight! Explore an incredible collection of aircraft, spacecraft, and interactive exhibits that showcase the evolution of aviation and space exploration.

As part of this special experience, we will also have a presentation featuring Creed Tremaine Nelson from AJAC Advanced Manufacturing Apprenticeships, who will discuss the Youth Manufacturing Program and its opportunities for young professionals in the industry. Additionally, Robert Prosch the Director of Preparatory Programs at the Museum of Flight, will share insights on the museum’s programs designed to inspire and prepare the next generation of aerospace and manufacturing professionals.

Renton Teacher Academy - Recruiting Washington Teachers Offsite Workshop

Renton Teacher Academy students learn the fundamentals of the educational system and practice instructional best practices in their RWT program at three high schools in the Renton School District: Hazen HS, Lindbergh HS, and Renton HS. Students note that working with children in their weekly internships is one of their most rewarding high school experiences.
The Renton Teacher Academy RWT program is situated in the requirements of the CTE Careers in Education Career Cluster and has three main goals:
  • Support and educate students for career in education.
  • Design and deliver programs aimed at encouraging high school students to consider and explore teaching careers in state-identified shortage areas – particularly computer science, mathematics, science, bilingual education, and special education.
  • Coordinate and integrate services designed to overcome barriers to complete higher education teacher preparation programs and enter the teaching profession.
Join us to hear from a panel of teachers and students to learn how Renton School District coordinates the work for 110 unpaid high school interns, and 32 paid after-school interns. Tips for promoting, recruiting, training, maintaining, and transporting will be included during this Q & A session.
