How much are the CareerTech VISION Registration Fees?

  • The fees vary based on your status (ACTE member, Nonmember, Student and Retired) as well as when you are registering for the conference. For Student and Retired rates please call 800-826-9972 or email registration@acteonline.org

What is included in the CareerTech VISION Registration Fee?

  • The full conference registration fee includes access to all general sessions, concurrent sessions and the Expo hall. Workshops and tours are an additional cost. Meals are not included in the cost of registration.  

Do I have to be an ACTE member to register for CareerTech VISION and Expo?

  • No, you do not have to be a member of ACTE to register for CareerTech VISION and Expo. However, if you become a member of ACTE you could save up to $180 on registration fees.

What is your registration policy for speakers/presenters that have a paper or panel accepted for the conference?

  • All speakers and presenters are required to register for the CareerTech VISION and Expo. All accepted speakers/presenters will receive a separate speaker registration form to register. If you have questions about registering as a speaker/presenter please contact Jaime Alston, Director of Meetings & Events, at jalston@acteonline.org or 703-683-9338.

Can I register for one day only? Do you have a special day rate?

  • Yes, we offer a one day registration for Friday only or for Saturday only.

Do you offer a spouse registration?

  • Only one spouse (nonmembers only) is allowed to register with each full registrant.  Another faculty member, peer or someone in a related CTE profession is not eligible for this category and must be registered as a full conference registrant. Spouse registration includes General Sessions & Expo Hall only.  If a spouse wishes to attend concurrent sessions and to receive CEU credit, he/she must be registered as a full conference attendee.

How do I register for CareerTech VISION?

  • To qualify for the early-bird or advance rates, ACTE must receive your registration, along with method of payment (including purchase orders), by the deadline (no postmarks). Otherwise, the next applicable rate will apply.
  • Please note, registrations will not be accepted without payment.

Paying by credit card is the preferred method - visit www.careertechvision.com.

  • Visa, MC, Amex, and Discover are accepted. Please do not fax.

Paying by Mail - Checks (allow 2-3 weeks for processing)

  • Payable to ACTE (in U.S. dollars and drawn on a U.S. bank)

Remit to P.O. Box 758621, Baltimore, MD 21275-8621

  • Copy of registration form must accompany the check payment
  • Copies of checks will NOT be accepted. DO NOT FAX.

Paying by Purchase Order (allow 5-7 business days for processing)

  • ACTE requires the following in order to avoid delay in processing

·         Your PO must have your organization’s  full contact information

·         Include the purchasing agent’s (or Buyer’s) printed name, signature, e-mail address and phone number

·         Include the PO date

·         Include the PO number

·         Pricing and payments must be in U.S. dollars

·         Include complete bill-to and ship-to addresses

·         Include payment terms on your PO

·         Include a complete product description with the correct price and registrant’s name

·         Initial and date any handwritten or overtyped amendments to the PO

Visa Information 

ACTE welcomes education professionals from around the world to attend our conferences.  Below you will find ACTE’s recommended process for requesting for an Invitational/ VISA Letter.

Depending on your country of citizenship, you may require a visa to enter the United States and may request that the applicants appear in person for an interview as part of the process when they submit their visa application. You are strongly encouraged to register as early as possible to secure an interview date with the U.S. Embassy. Requirements vary from country to country. You must contact the U.S. Embassy in your home country for further visa requirements.

ACTE is not responsible any costs related to visa application, registration fees, transportation fares, and other costs associated with your travel to any of our conferences.

ACTE Requirements to obtain a VISA Letter

Attendees should apply no later than three months before any ACTE conference. If you apply after the 3 months period ACTE cannot guarantee that the invitational letter will be sent to you in time for your VISA meeting.

Visa letters will only be issued to speakers, presenters, committee members, members and nonmember who have registered and paid in full for the conference. The visa letter will not be sent to any one until ACTE receives full conference payment.

Visa letters will state only the facts listed below:

•             Conference title, dates, and location;

•             The purpose of the conference and/or meeting(s)

•             If they are a committee member, speaker, or presenter.

•             The individual name and address

PLEASE NOTE: The U.S. Visa Letter from ACTE DOES NOT guarantee a U.S. visa. It is only a supporting document for you to take to the U.S. Embassy. 

Can I attend just a Thursday Seminar?

  • Yes, you are able to register for a just a Thursday Seminar/workshop. Please visit www.careertechvision.com  to register.

Can I register onsite?

  • Yes, you can register onsite for CareerTech VISION. Please note that some tours and Thursday workshops may be sold out onsite. Please visit our website www.careertechvision.com  for any changes to any of the workshops or tours.  Awards banquet tickets are not available for purchase onsite - these will need to be purchased prior to the conference.  Our onsite registration hours will be posted after 10/16/2015.

Does ACTE offer a group discount for registration?

  • Yes, we offer a 10 % group discount when you register 10 or more individuals from the same institution and pay with one check or purchase order. The discount applies to the ACTE CareerTech VISION and CareerTech Expo registrations only. The discount does not apply to any of the Thursday workshops, awards banquet, or additional conferences offered. Each attendee must complete a registration form and the completed form should be sent in with payment.

Can I transfer my registration if I am unable to attend?

  • Yes, registrants unable to attend may send a substitute. Substitutions will not be accepted unless received in writing from the original registrant by 10/22/2015. A letter from the original registrant authorizing the substitution must be emailed to registration@acteonline.org or faxed to 703-683-9367, along with the substitute’s completed registration form, by 10/22/2015. The substitute’s registration fee will be subject to pricing based on her/his ACTE membership status.

What is your cancellation policy?

  • We understand that members who have registered for the conference may have to cancel their registrations due to unforeseen circumstances. ACTE has developed a cancellation policy to balance the needs of our members with the costs of cancellation to ACTE. All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to registration@acteonline.org or faxed to 703-683-9367. As such, please note that cancellation requests for an already confirmed registration will be processed according to the following schedule:

            Through Sept 18, 2015: 100 % refund (less $100 administrative fee)
             Sept 19 – Oct 22, 2015: 50% refund
             After Oct 22, 2015: No refunds available

Can I get a certificate of attendance?

  • A certificate of attendance will be provided after the conference is over. You will be emailed a survey of the conference and once you have completed the survey you will be able to print the certificate of attendance for your records.

Will there be a coat check?

  • No, a coat check will not be available through ACTE. You may check with the hotel or convention center to see if there is one available.

What is the dress code for CareerTech VISION?

  • The preferred dress code for CareerTech VISION is Business Casual.

Will ACTE provide shuttle service between the hotels and the Convention Center?

  • No, all the hotels are within walking distance of the convention center.
