Melanie has over a decade of experience reporting on Congress and national politics, interviewing countless high-ranking officials and covering some of the most consequential stories in Washington — including two presidential impeachments, historic battles over the speakership and the Capitol insurrection.

As a senior congressional reporter for Punchbowl News, Melanie is focused on reporting about the power, people and politics driving Capitol Hill. Melanie is also an on-air contributor for NBC News, where she regularly delivers her insights and reporting. Prior to joining Punchbowl News, Melanie was a Capitol Hill reporter for CNN and Politico. She is a proud Chicago native and University of Illinois graduate.
