Corrosion Applications for Composites
This webinar will discuss composites applications, materials, fabrication options and product examples that provide advanced corrosion resistance. The value of longevity, money savings and lower maintenance costs touches many products and corrosion resistance is a major advantage of composites over other materials. Use of composites in chemical tanks, piping of corrosive chemicals, infrastructure and process equipment can bring many product advantages and industry growth opportunities. Composites also are resistant to galvanic corrosion in both salt and freshwater marine environments, and commercial and military aircraft are seeing increased use of composites that resist corrosion in extreme altitude, pressure and humidity changes.

Advances in Composite Recycling – Progress Towards a Circular Glass and Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymeric Materials Economy
Fiber reinforced polymer composites are complex materials systems which present significant, nontrivial challenges to their successful recycling. In this webinar, the technical problems involved in recycling glass and carbon fiber composites will be discussed alongside active research to recover and convert these materials into new value-added products. The presentation will highlight different ways in which your organization can become involved in helping to solve this industry wide issue and create a more circular supply chain for composite materials. Additionally, this presentation will give an overview of the concept of Life Cycle Assessment specific to the composites industry. Representative projects highlighting embodied energy results related to the automotive, aerospace, renewable energy, natural fibers, and resin systems will be explained.
